Stardew Valley is an online role-playing game developed by Eric Barone. It was launched for Microsoft Windows on February 16th, 2021, and is later released for macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Vita, iOS and Android. It is a game much like the old-school computer games of days gone by, but with a twist: it is now for everyone to enjoy.
In the game, you play as Kevin, a boy who lives in the town of Stardew Valley. You start by following a set of instructions given by your friend Diner. These instructions will lead you on a journey towards the peaceful town of Midnight Hollow where you'll live life as a normal human. The game revolves around five-year-old Kevin, who after getting lost in the woods, wanders into the local community center and witnesses the murder of his family member, triggering a tragic chain of events that leads to you becoming the new leader of the community. There, you have to help the people, restore the peace in town and fight against the several dangerous monsters that have appeared to menace the area.
If you want to become part of the colorful community of Stardew Valley, the first thing you need to do is to download the game. The setup is very easy and simple: after you have downloaded the file, you can start playing by going to the main menu and clicking on the game icon. The instructions will direct you about how to activate the various buttons, and once you have done so, you're in! As you proceed through the story, you'll meet new friends and challenges, such as collecting items, leveling up and competing in seasonal festivals. Soon enough, you'll enter the underground cave where the final battle takes place and the outcome will decide if you're going to rule the town or be an outcast - you can't get out of the bottom anymore, you're just stuck forever.
In this farming/shipping simulator, you're really not following the usual path of most simulation games. Your character starts at a location known as the outskirts of town. You can travel in your vehicle but you'll need to pay a certain fee before you can leave the airport. There, you'll find several stores selling a variety of different items including tools, fish and gears, as well as several crab pots that can be fishing to gain coins. If you're interested in upgrading your equipment, some of the available farmhouses give access to stardew Valley's secret cave which contains secret items, coins and more.
One thing that I love about this game is that it uses realistic farming and fishing techniques that allow you to actually feel the water as you plow, harvest, store and transport your crops. The controls are very smooth and responsive, with only a few minor input problems such as over-saturated soil or muddy areas. If you're planning on starting farming in the future, I would advise downloading the updated version called StndraWigs which provides an entirely new interface, new animals and an even greater variety of crops. Everything in this version of the game feels natural and it adds to the relaxing atmosphere.
Throughout the game, you can see your character's progress by how many crops they can produce or by the price in the market. Animals can be trained to do certain tasks such as fetch, dig or pick up dropped items and others like to roam around and do nothing but eat, poop and sleep. You can buy starter shacks from the shop where you started raising crops, which will provide you with a way to get them to grow even more. Once you buy a starter shack, the animals will stay there until you decide to move them.
Another option is to purchase seeds from the seed shop, but these aren't very useful until after you've raised enough crops to unlock the farming pole. You can then purchase seeds from the seed shop again, but that might take a while as it will take time to grow enough crops to make money off of them. There are three types of seeds in the game; frost resistant, rainproof and non-rainproof. You can purchase seeds for each of these three classes so that you can get all three types if you want. When buying seeds from the seed shop, you can save money by taking advantage of the lower prices and then selling the seeds at a higher price later on.
Once you complete the game, you can move onto a town and start earning money by being the local farmer. You'll notice that the prices of some of the foods in town are a lot higher than the rest. You can always cook your own food at home but it doesn't really do much in the way of making more money. One of the best ways to increase your income is to buy small items from shops in town and then sell them for higher prices at an auction site. You can also buy fish and other livestock from the black market that will help you keep your population healthy. You may also be interested in knowing about the Tekken 8 release date and many more informative articles on Technos Daily.
